Poster 16x20 in. Specs

  • Your file should be 16" x 20" and have a minimum resolution of 200 dpi
  • Accepted file formats: .JPG, .JPEG, .TIF, .TIFF, .EPS
  • .TIFF (or .TIF) formats should be flattened
  • .EPS formats must have all type converted to vector paths (traced or outlined)
  • RGB colorspace only
  • Max file size is 60mb

Beastie Boys are giving you the chance to design an official poster for their new single, "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win (featuring Santigold)" from their long-anticipated eighth album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2. The winning poster will be selected by Beastie Boys and given away with the new single at select record stores.

Be inspired by the Hot Sauce Committee album art sketches by Mike Mills and the outrageous, celebrity-filled short film Fight For Your Right (Revisited) and create an unforgettable piece of poster art for the new single.

Step 1. Listen to Beastie Boys' new single, "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win (featuring Santigold)" 

Step 2. Choose one or more of the provided characters from the Hot Sauce Committee sketches:

Step 3. Design a 16x20" poster featuring the character(s) of your choosing with the theme of "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" and upload your design.

The winning designer will receive $1000. You may submit multiple entries. The deadline to upload is midnight at the end of Monday, August 1, 2011.

Things You Need To Include

  • <ul> <li> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: small; ">You may download the Hot Sauce Committee sketches from Support Files to use in your work. However, you are encouraged to redraw/reimagine the characters.</span></li> </ul>

Things You Should Avoid

  • <ul> <li> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: small; ">Submit unique, original artwork, designs and illustrations.</span></li> <li> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: small; ">Include the text &quot;Beastie Boys&quot; and &quot;Don&#39;t Play No Game That I Can&#39;t Win&quot;.</span></li> <li> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: small; ">Don&#39;t use photos of the band.</span></li> <li> <span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: small; ">The winning design will be printed using a multi-color screen-printing process. The winning designer should be able to submit a layered, color-separated file of the winning design. Vector files (.ai/.eps) are preferred but .psd files are acceptable.</span></li> <li> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: small; ">Entries deemed vulgar or offensive will be disqualified.</span></li> </ul>
